digikam-doc software package provides handbook for digiKam and showFoto in several languages, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install digikam-doc
digikam-doc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the digikam-doc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep digikam-doc *
You will get with digikam-doc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
